Erittäin Sallainen – Our Promise to You

We protect our clean and beautiful nature so that during your holiday you can continue to breathe some of the cleanest air in the world and enjoy fresh, pure water. With our local knowledge and practical experience, we are happy to give you tips for exploring the surrounding nature. We are also proud to offer local products, all made north of the Arctic Circle.

At Erittäin Sallainen, we also take responsibility for the climate. Our district heating is produced locally in Salla using wood chips. When our cottages are not in use, we lower the temperature to save energy and reduce emissions. We also use energy-efficient LED lighting.

Our laundry is washed locally in Salla, and towels and bed linen are not washed unnecessarily every day. We encourage our guests to drink fresh tap water and to recycle during their stay.

Recycling is an important part of our daily operations. We provide several recycling points for our guests. At our campsite, we have our own recycling station with separate containers for metal, glass, paper and batteries. During the summer season, we use a composter, while in winter we collect biowaste separately. We also work together with other local businesses and the municipality to improve biowaste recycling in Salla.

Everything we do is based on tourism that respects nature. We are happy to guide you to local berry-picking areas, nearby hiking trails and hunting areas. And when you are thirsty, there is no need for bottled water – fresh and pure Salla water comes straight from the tap.
