Sustainability

For us, sustainability is above all about practical choices in our everyday operations. We operate in Salla, surrounded by nature that is important to us, and we want to do our part to take care of it.

Our accommodation is heated with district heating produced locally in Salla using wood chips. When our cottages are not occupied, we lower the temperature to avoid unnecessary energy use. We are also gradually switching to LED lighting.

Our accommodation textiles are laundered locally in Salla. We do not replace or wash towels and bed linen unnecessarily during a stay, and we encourage our guests to reuse their towels.

Recycling is part of everyday life

Our campsite has a recycling point where guests can sort metal, glass, plastic and biowaste. During the summer season, we also use a composter.

We also encourage our guests to refill their own water bottles with tap water instead of buying bottled water.

Local in Salla

We are a local company based in Salla, and whenever possible, we use local services and work with local partners. The local products we sell come from north of the Arctic Circle.

The nature of Salla is practically right on our doorstep. We are always happy to help our guests find nearby trails and other nature destinations, as well as recommend local services and things to do in the area.
